Awaiting FINTRAC registration. Remit for good is not yet accepting transfers. Operations begin once our registration as a money services business is complete.
All four run in the app: quoted before you commit, tracked after you send. The office in the Financial District is there if you would rather set something up in person.
Buy or sell currency for travel, tuition, property or an invoice you have been asked to settle in someone else's currency. You are quoted a rate for your amount, not an indicative mid-market number that changes at the till.
Large amounts may need to be arranged ahead so the currency is on hand, and will need identification and, above a threshold, the source of the funds.
Send to a person rather than an institution. The right route depends entirely on what the recipient can actually use, which is why we support several rather than pushing everyone through one.
Cash pickup needs the recipient's name to match their identification exactly. A mismatch is the most common reason a collection is refused.
For payments that have to reconcile at the other end: suppliers, contractors, overseas payroll. The transfer carries the references your counterparty's finance team needs, so it is not an unexplained credit in their statement.
Business payments need the business verified as well as the person instructing them. That is done once, at onboarding, not on every payment.
If you send to the same people every month, the repeat work should disappear. Verified beneficiaries can be reused, and a payment run can be prepared once and approved each cycle.
Recurring arrangements are reviewed periodically. If the pattern of payments changes materially we will ask about it, which is a requirement rather than suspicion.
The app shows the options and the cost for your amount and destination. If you would rather ask a person first, that is fine too.
